My name is Sigrun, I live in Stockholm and I'm a nice and sensible person when it comes to most things. But not when it comes to cooking.
I love food, the smells, the tastes, the textures, the sensations of eating and drinking, the process of creation, well everything about it. I don't mind in the least if a recipe is complicated, calls for weird ingredients, expensive kitchen equipment or takes forever. I'm always right about everything when I cook and I never apologize in the kitchen.
Well, this is all fine, but then I went ahead and had two kids. They are not impressed by fancy dinners. In fact, they hate every moment I don't rest my eyes on them only or when food takes more than 2 minutes to get on the table. As you see, we have a conflict of interests here.
So, I try to compromise. After all, I love my kids more than anything. I try feeding thems stuff they'll eat and at the same time feeding my foodie soul stuff that makes me stay sane. It's not so easy. One day at the time, step by step, you know the drill.
